Job summary

Shoppers Drug Mart seeks a licensed Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) to join Central Pharmacy Services in Mississauga. You will verify medications, reconcile narcotics, and ensure timely, compliant dispensing while upholding patient privacy.

We value accuracy, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; bilingual English/French is an asset. This full-time role supports a stable, technology-driven workflow within the Shoppers network.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as an RPhT in good standing.
• Liability insurance to legally practice as an RPhT.
• Minimum 1 year of continuous pharmacy experience (retail/hospital/long-term care).
• Experience with high-volume filling environments preferred.
• PacMed or PacVision experience is an asset.
• Bilingual English/French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of prepared medications by checking prescriptions and ensuring compliance and quality.
• Make necessary corrections to identified issues.
• Count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications.
• Maintain efficient workflow and timely delivery routes.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality per regulations.
• Stay current with legal requirements and workplace policies.
• Contribute to an inclusive and belonging-focused team culture.

What you'll do:

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality. This includes weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages and all non-packaged products
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging

What you bring:

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail)
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
