Job summary

Central Pharmacy Services, a division of Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart, seeks a licensed Pharmacy Technician to ensure medication accuracy and regulatory compliance in a high-volume, technologically advanced central fill environment.

The role supports patient safety, requires strong communication, and offers competitive pay with customizable benefits. This on-site position is based in Calgary with opportunities for licensing support and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in good standing.
• Liability insurance to legally practice as an RPhT.
• Minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment.
• Experience with high-volume filling environments preferred.
• Experience with PacMed or PacVision is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality.
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified.
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications.
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times.
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations.
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures.
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality. This includes weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages and all non-packaged products
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging

What You Bring

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail)
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
