PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist Pharmacy Manager in managing daily workload;
  • Collaborate with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants to fulfill prescription orders;
  • Label and fill / refill prescriptions independently;
  • Perform double checks for repeat prescriptions before release;
  • Verify correct prescriptions are received by customers;
  • Identify potential therapeutic issues and consult Pharmacist for checks;
  • Coordinate with Innomar and ABSG Patient Programs to fulfill pharmacy responsibilities;
  • Prepare, review, and process billings, claims, and disbursements;
  • Assist patients at pickup;
  • Enter and correct prescription data in the computer;
  • Screen calls and gather information for Pharmacist;
  • Review invoices and related documents;
  • Pack and ship prescriptions;
  • Maintain accurate inventory records;
  • Report Adverse Events per regulatory standards;
  • Renew OCP registration annually and participate in Quality Assurance;
  • Perform other duties as assigned;
  • May be required to be on standby / on call.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Pharmacy Technician diploma from an accredited college and successful completion of Structured Practical Training or Ontario College of Pharmacists Bridging Program with a Certificate of Registration;
  • At least two years of pharmacy experience;
  • Proficiency in Kroll and Microsoft Office suite;
  • Bilingualism in French / English is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations;
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry and drug distribution practices;
  • Business and financial acumen;
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills;

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently;
  • Problem-solving skills;
  • Time management and multi-tasking abilities;
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
