The Complex Care and Recovery Program seeks a full-time, temporary Registered Nurse for the Structured Observation and Treatment Unit and Women’s Secure Forensic Unit. As part of an interprofessional team, you will provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care, ensure unit security, and adhere to professional standards, CAMH policies, and the Practice Model of Care.
Your responsibilities include client assessments, developing and evaluating care plans, liaising with services and community agencies, and contributing to program development and research. You will perform behavioral and physical health assessments, monitor responses to interventions, and document care. Knowledge of crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, forensic psychiatry, and risk assessments is required.
Skills needed include assessment, care planning, understanding of forensic systems, and cultural competence. The role involves shift work and weekends at the Queen Street Site.
Requirements include membership with the College of Nurses of Ontario, current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certification, and preferably a BScN and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Bilingual skills are an asset.
