Job summary

VMCH is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated In-Charge Registered Nurse to ensure high-quality care for residents. You will supervise RNs, ENs and PCAs, provide direction, and promote professional practice within a friendly team environment.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse.
• Experience assessing aged care residents and formulating care plans.
• Understanding of relevant legislation and standards governing aged care.
• First Aid and CPR certification.

• Ability to work unsupervised and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to residents and meet daily care needs.

About The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly and self-motivated Registered Nurse, your focus will be to ensure the provision of high-quality care to our residents to meet their daily care needs by demonstrating professional and collaborative practice and providing supervision and direction to RNs, ENs & PCAs whilst ensuring they are empowered to do as much as they can for themselves.

About You

• Current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse, with relevant qualification and experience as an incharge RN
• Experience assessing Aged Care Residents and formulating Care Plans
• Understanding and working knowledge of Commonwealth, State and / or Territory legislation and nursing practices.
• An understanding of and ability to ensure compliance with residential Aged Care Standards, AN-ACC requirements, Occupational Health and Safety, food safety and other professional legislative requirements
• First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers
• Interpersonal skills, patience, common sense and a strong ethos of client service
• Strong initiative and ability to work without supervision and be self-motivated
• Proficiency utilising information technology, with well-developed computer skills including MS Office
• Ability to work all of the days and shifts as listed below
