Martensville Collective Health and Wellness is hiring a temporary part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to support physicians in delivering comprehensive primary care services in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities include patient assessments, triage, immunizations, wound care, EMR documentation, and chronic disease management, in collaboration with the healthcare team. BScN and CRNS in good standing are required, with 1–2 years frontline experience.

Qualifications

  • CRNS registration in good standing.
  • BScN or equivalent degree in nursing.
  • BLS certification; ACLS asset.
  • 1–2 years frontline clinical nursing experience.
  • Triage, clinical assessment, and acute care management experience.
  • Emergency or public health nursing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of primary care protocols, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as MedAccess.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.
  • Compassionate, patient-centred approach.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Prioritize patients by acuity in person or by phone.
  • Collaborate on care coordination and follow-up.
  • Provide immunizations, wound care, phlebotomy per clinic protocols.
  • Support minor procedures and diagnostic exams.
  • Manage chronic disease plans (diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma).
  • Deliver preventive health services and health education.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
  • Support IPAC standards.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement projects.

Registered Nurse - TPT - Martensville, SK

Martensville Collective Health and Wellness is a busy multidisciplinary clinic with a team of Family Physicians, a Nurse Practitioner, and a Physiotherapist. We are one of the Innovation Fund sites that receives funding from the Ministry of Health in partnership with the Saskatchewan Medical Association

Martensville Collective Health and Wellness is hiring a Temporary Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN). The Registered Nurse will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical setting. You will support physicians in delivering comprehensive primary care services, including assessments, health education, and chronic disease management.

This position is part of a newly developed Innovation Fund between the Saskatchewan Government and medical clinics across Saskatchewan with the aim of improving patient access and quality care through team-based support, which will deliver better access to primary care in the province of Saskatchewan. This position is temporary until March 31, 2028, with the possibility of an extension.

If you have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or an equivalent nursing degree, are in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS), and have at least 1-2 years of frontline nursing experience, this job is for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Create and revise protocols/work standards related to the position in collaboration with the Physician Lead/s.
  • Assist providers with task management by triaging, sorting, and communicating incoming patient results
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical observations, history-taking, and risk factor identification.
  • Perform triage functions by prioritizing patients based on acuity, both in-person and via telephone, applying established clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team in case management, care coordination, and patient follow-up.
  • Initiate and perform clinical interventions, including medication administration, immunizations, wound care, phlebotomy, and diagnostic specimen collection as per established clinic protocols.
  • Assist providers with minor procedures, diagnostic examinations, and treatments within the scope of practice.
  • Implement and monitor chronic disease management plans (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, COPD, asthma) as per developed clinical protocols.
  • Provide preventive health services, including immunization, communicable disease screening and health promotion counselling.
  • Patient Education: Lifestyle factors related to prediabetes diagnosis and elevated cholesterol, Wound care, Immunizations, STI screening
  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system and engage in ongoing education as EMR technology develops.
  • Apply knowledge of emergency nursing and public health protocols to enhance care delivery in a primary care setting.
  • Enforce infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards in all clinical encounters.
  • Team huddle board communication -Daily Visual management
  • Participation in Quality Improvement projects

Qualifications:

  • Current registration and good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS).
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or equivalent degree in nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support [ACLS] an asset).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of frontline clinical nursing experience is essential.
  • Demonstrated competence in triage, clinical assessment, and acute care management.
  • Previous experience in emergency nursing (preferred) and/or public health nursing (asset).
  • Strong knowledge of primary care protocols, chronic disease management, and preventive medicine practices.
  • Proficiency with clinical documentation and EMR systems (eg. MedAccess).
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Demonstrated ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and families; a compassionate, approachable, and people-centred professional.
