Job summary

Interior Health seeks an experienced Sexual and Reproductive Health Registered Nurse to join the Keremeos team. The role focuses on comprehensive nursing services including STBBI care, contraception, cervical cancer screening, HIV PrEP/PEP, immunizations, and gender-affirming care within a trauma-informed, culturally safe framework.

The position is a permanent part-time (0.49 FTE) with day shifts (08:00–16:00) and travel required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current licensure (RN) in British Columbia.
• Experience in sexual and reproductive health settings preferred.
• Ability to provide clinic-based and outreach services, with trauma-informed, culturally safe care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing services related to STBBI screening, contraception management, pelvic exams, cervical cancer screening, HIV PrEP/PEP, immunizations and gender-affirming care.
• Apply health equity and social determinants of health in all responsibilities.
• Support clients in navigating the health care system and coordinate referrals.

About The Job

• Provides comprehensive and coordinated nursing services related to sexual and reproductive health including but not limited to; sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (STBBI) screening, testing, treatment and contact tracing, contraceptive management, pelvic exams, cervical cancer screening, and HIV pre and post exposure prophylaxis, immunizations and gender affirming care.
• Applies a health equity, social justice, and social determinates of health lens to all key responsibilities
• Ensures clients are supported in navigating the health care system
• Provides trauma informed, person centered, gender inclusive, holistic and culturally safe care, honouring Indigenous knowledge, wisdom and diversity
• Provides care within a person and family centered care model.

The role includes a strong focus on prevention, education, health promotion, assessment, treatment, contact tracing, coordination, support, liaison, and client referral to other health services.

The nurse works in partnership with other health care providers and community-based services and agencies, both internal and external to IH, providing clinic-based services as well as outreach-based services. These services may be outside of the nurse’s home community.

This is a Permanent Part Time (0.49) opportunity.

Shifts of work will be scheduled day rotating from 08:00 to 16:00 and 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
