In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Nurse practices in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), as well as within a client and family centered care model.
The Urgent Response Nurse functions as a member of the larger Specialized Services team and as a member of a specific multi-disciplinary team whose purpose is to provide direct and indirect mobile crisis intervention and mental health and substance use clinical services in order to ensure that persons with serious mental health problems and/or problematic substance use or withdrawal management issues have access to timely, responsive, evidence based treatment and clinical supports across the continuum of available services. The Urgent Response Nurse provides crisis response, assessment, suicide intervention, short term treatment planning, time limited case management and, as required, rapid response to clients who may also have serious functional impairment in the domains of physical health and personal, family, financial, occupational, and social life. The Urgent Response Nurse functions as a primary clinician for short periods of time utilizing a variety of specialized treatment modalities/therapies for individuals, groups of clients and/or their families.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, 10:00 to 21:12 (rotating)
