Job summary

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department at Golden District Hospital in Golden, BC. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced ED, working independently and with an interdisciplinary team.

This relief full-time position runs until February 7, 2027, with rotating day and night shifts (06:45–19:00, 18:45–07:00). Golden offers a vibrant community and access to outdoor recreation, supporting work-life balance within IH.

Qualifications

  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Advanced preparation in Emergency or related clinical specialty
  • CPR within 3 years
  • BCLS within 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to emergency patients, independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Collaborates with other health care providers to improve patient outcomes
  • Maintains continuous improvement and evidence-based nursing practice
  • Maintains and advances own clinical competence
  • Participates in hospital committees/approved research as assigned

Qualfications
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
  • Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position:
    • Emergency – Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
    • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) within 3 years
    • Combined Critical Care/Emergency – Advanced preparation in a critical care clinical specialty and 2 years related clinical experience aligned with unit specific competencies or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 3 years
