Interior Health Authority in Kelowna, BC is seeking an experienced Cardiac Services Nurse to join the Kelowna General Hospital team. The role covers the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, admitting and recovering patients, scrubbing, circulating, and recording diagnostic and interventional procedures with a focus on high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

This is a relief full‑time position until September 13, 2027 with rotating day shifts and an on‑call requirement.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with experience in Critical Care and cardiac nursing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced Cardiac Catheterization Lab environment.
• Flexibility to cover rotating shifts and on-call requirements.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.

Interior Health is seeking an experienced and dynamic Cardiac Services Nurse to join our team at the Kelowna General Hospital in beautiful Kelowna, B.C. If cardiac nursing is your passion and you are trained in Critical Care and are a reliable, flexible and motivated registered nurse, The assigned clinical area for this position is the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, which includes admitting and recovering patients, scrubbing, circulating, and recording diagnostic and interventional procedures performed, ensuring our patients receive the highest standard of care.

About The Job

The Registered Nurse:

• Practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care
• Works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs
• Demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities

This is a Relief Full Time opportunity until September 13, 2027, or the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days, rotating from 07:00 to 17:00, 08:00 to 18:00, 09:30 to 19:30 hours.

About this location

Kelowna is home to the new Interior Heart and Surgical Centre (IHSC) at Kelowna General Hospital built in 2015. The new Regional Cardiac Revascularization Program provides residents of the British Columbia Interior with the cardiac care they need, right here in the heart of the Okanagan Valley. Our team of medical staff in the Cardiac Program includes 5 Cardiac Surgeons, 4 Cardiac Surgical Assistants, 4 Interventional Cardiologists, 3 Electrophysiologists, 11 General Cardiologists, 6 NPs and more than 200 medical and clinical staff, including cardiac anaesthetists, perfusionists, clinical nursing staff, anaesthesia assistants and support staff. KGH offers a 20 bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit, an 8 bed Coronary Intensive Care Unit (CCU), an 8 bed Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CSICU), an 18 bed Cardiac Surgery Inpatient (CSIP) ward, 2 Cardiac Cath Labs and 1 Electrophysiology Lab. The Cardiac Program is projecting approximately 170 TAVI cases this fiscal year which are performed in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
