Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to support Renal Dialysis in a float role, primarily at unit 27 Hemodialysis with Foothills Medical Centre. The role requires critical thinking, leadership in holistic care, and patient-family centered practices.

The RN will provide safe, quality care, collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, and adapt to staffing needs across sites including Northwest Hemodialysis or Sheldon M Chumir Hemodialysis as required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the CRNA.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
• Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
• Demonstrated excellent assessment, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Current Hemodialysis experience required.
• HD Charge nurse/team leader experience required.
• Acute trained required. Outreach trained required. In-patient and nocturnal experience required.
• Successful completion of the Specialized Clinical Competency of Hemodialysis Orientation.

Job description

The Registered Nurse - Renal Dialysis practices within the philosophy and guidelines of the Alberta Kidney Care - South and works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of holistic and comprehensive care, to meet the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. This position may involve lifting and movements requiring fine motor skills (e.g. hand dexterity).Note: This position is a float position. The home unit is FMC Unit 27 Hemodialysis. The successful candidate may be required to work at Northwest Hemodialysis or Sheldon M Chumir Hemodialysis based on staffing needs.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
