The Clinical Care Program is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Registered Nurse to work in the Psychosis Recovery and Treatment Unit 6 (PRT 6). As a member of an inter-professional team, you will provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care, ensuring safety and security of the client care environment. You will practice in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario standards, Canadian Standards for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, CAMH policies, and relevant legislation.

Using a primary nursing model, you will perform ongoing assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans for clients with Schizophrenia. You will coordinate care with other services and community agencies, work with diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education and supervision, and participate in research activities. Skills required include behavioral observations, mental and physical assessments, monitoring responses to interventions, and thorough documentation. Knowledge of crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, severe mental illness, and Schizophrenia is essential. You should have the ability to develop and evaluate interdisciplinary care plans and support a diverse, team-oriented workplace. The position involves 12-hour shift rotations and weekend work at the Queen Street Site.

The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, hold a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate, and preferably possess or be pursuing a B.Sc.N. and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required. Experience with mental health and addiction clients, and bilingualism (French/English), are assets. Computer literacy is necessary.
