Position Details
Temporary position until approximately March 31, 2026.
Rotation/shifts include days, nights, and weekends, with 12-hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • At least 3 months of recent Psychiatry experience in an acute care setting
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques and relevant legislation
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to develop and deliver in-services and presentations
  • Strong collaborative skills for working with community partners and hospital departments
  • Competence in assessment, planning, prioritization, and problem-solving
  • Good judgment and behavior in emergency situations
  • Organized with proficiency in documentation and computer use
  • Eligibility to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • BScN
  • Recent Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
  • Fluency in English and French (spoken and comprehension)
