Overview
Registered Nurses possess a defined body of advanced knowledge, clinical skills, procedural skills, and professional attitudes, which are directed to effective patient and family-centered care. In serving as the leader of the Coordinated Care Team, Registered Nurses have a pivotal role in care planning, coordination, and delivery, ensuring high-level functioning of the health care team. RNs apply both their clinical knowledge and leadership skills to collect and interpret information, make appropriate nursing clinical decisions, and carry out therapeutic nursing interventions. Their care is characterized by up-to-date, ethical, and resource-efficient clinical practice as well as effective communication in partnership with patients, families, and clinical teams.
The Registered Nurse in the Nursing Resource Team must have a wide range of nursing skills related to general medical-surgical nursing. The RN must have demonstrated leadership skills, excellent critical thinking, and the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations. To serve the wide organizational needs, the RN must be willing to cross-train to specialty areas as required. This position will work in clinical areas across Michael Garron Hospital, including off-site clinical settings as required.
