Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Nurse for Westside Long-Term Care in Ontario. This casual role covers mixed shifts, including days, evenings, and nights, with on-call rotations.

The RN will ensure resident care aligns with nursing standards and physician orders, contribute to care planning, and coordinate with cross-functional teams. The role emphasizes strong clinical skills, infection control, and leadership in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the Director of Care.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Experience in long-term care management preferred.
• Experience dealing with cognitively impaired residents.
• Proficient in infection control practices.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care following established standards and physician orders.
• Assess residents and develop, implement, review, and evaluate care plans.
• Direct and supervise nursing and personal care staff; train new personnel.
• Assist in preparing the Facility for RAI MDS.
• Take charge of the Facility in the absence of the Director of Care.
• Staff replacement in the absence of the care clerk.
