Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes in Elmvale, ON invites a Registered Nurse for a part-time evening position. You will deliver resident care, document vital signs and coordinate with physicians under established nursing standards.

Qualified candidates hold the College of Nurses of Ontario certificate and are registered or eligible with RNAO; prior long-term care leadership and infection-control knowledge are assets.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Previous managerial experience in long-term care preferred.
• Experience dealing with the cognitively impaired.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and infection control.
• Commitment to working with seniors.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident care per nursing standards, observe and record vital signs and conditions.
• Assess residents, develop and evaluate care plans; monitor health and refer as needed.
• Plan, supervise and evaluate unit staff; orient/train personnel; conduct performance reviews.
• Assist in preparing the Facility for RAI MDS.
• Take charge in the absence of the Director of Care.
• Staff replacement in the absence of the care clerk.
