Job summary

South Woodslee, ON-based Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Practi(cal) Nurse for a temporary full-time evening role to support medication administration and resident care in our long-term care home. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to uphold standards and participate in care planning and nursing practice improvements.

Position requires current CNO certificate, RN eligibility, and First Aid/BLS; a strong commitment to seniors’

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS certificate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, including infection control.
• Effective human relation skills and commitment to working with seniors.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established standards, physician orders, and policies; observe and record vital signs and conditions.
• Assess residents, develop and evaluate care plans; monitor health and refer to doctors as needed.
• Organize and direct care functions, including restorative and palliative care; implement policies and procedures.
• Plan, supervise and evaluate nursing staff; orient/train new personnel; participate in performance appraisals.
