Job summary

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Intensive Care Unit team for a temporary part-time period of about six months. The role involves caring for critically ill patients on 12-hour shifts, with days, nights and weekends as required, under the supervision of the Emergency, ICU & Cardio Respiratory leadership.

You will provide advanced nursing care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and educate patients and families while adhering to CNO standards.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Two years nursing experience in acute care setting.
• BLS and ACLS.
• Coronary Care I or willingness to complete within six (6) months.
• Current nursing experience in a critical care setting.
• Critical Care Nursing Certification.
• Coronary Care II is preferred.
• Meditech Expanse.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor critically ill patients.
• Provide nursing care and treatments within RN scope of practice.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient care.
• Deliver supportive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care.
• Educate patients and families and promote health and wellness.
• Ensure safe, high-quality care in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards.
