Qualifications

• Coronary Care Level 1 and 2 required.
• Critical Care Certificate preferred or commitment to completion within 1 year of hire.
• 1–2 years recent Emergency Room and/or ICU experience; preference for both.
• Experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry; ICU/CCU/Step Down/Coronary Care unit asset.
• Must be able to work in multiple departments and perform transfers.

Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Nurse within Emergency/ICU Float Pool Department.

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be accountable and responsible for the provision of general and specialized nursing duties and work assignments on a daily basis. The RN will be tasked with caring for patients in the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit and function in the capacity of a Critical Care Float Nurse. This person will also follow and abide by the Practice Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and approved standards of care of the Corporation.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BScN preferred, minimum completion of Diploma in Nursing.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Current ACLS certification preferred, or proof of completion within three (3) months of hire.
• Coronary Care Level 1 and 2 required
• Completion of Critical Care Certificate preferred, or commitment to completion within one (1) year of hire.
• 1-2 years recent Emergency Room and/or Intensive Care Unit experience (preference will be given to those candidates with both Emergency Department and ICU experience)
• Experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry required; experience in an ICU, CCU, Step Down or Coronary Care unit an asset
• Required to work in multiple departments and do transfers
• Experience with arterial lines and central lines maintenance preferred
• Experience with mechanical ventilation preferred
• Management of Aggressive Behavior or equivalent preferred
• PALS or ENPC course preferred
• Able to work independently under medical directivesin a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize care and adapt to unexpected changes in patient acuity
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills
• Acceptable performance and attendance records

Hiring Salary Range: $41.15 - $58.98 We are hiring for existing vacancy.
