Job summary

Headwaters Health Care Centre in Ontario, Canada, seeks a Registered Practical Nurse to join the Emergency Department on a temporary full-time basis for about seven months. The RPN will provide patient- and family-centered nursing care within the ED, under medical directives, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective care.

The ideal candidate holds current CNO RPN registration, 1–2 years of recent ED or medicine/surgical unit experience, IV and CPR

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent RPN experience on medicine/surgical unit or Emergency Department.

We are looking for a Registered Practical Nurse to work with our Emergency Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork

Position Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Registered Practical Nurse within the Emergency Department.

The Registered Practical Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient/family focused nursing care to a patient population with predictable outcomes. As part of the interdisciplinary health team, the RPN will practice within their full scope in accordance with the nursing philosophy and standards set by HHCC, the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions Act legislation.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Practical Nurse certification from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 1-2 years recent RPN working experience (within the last 5 years) on a medicine/surgical unit and/or an Emergency Department required (preference will be given to those candidates with Emergency Department experience)
• Coronary Care for RPNs
• IV certification completion
• Current C.P.R. certification
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification
• Emergency Nursing Certification for RPN’s preferred
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to practice in a self-directed manner and to work independently under medical directives
• Acceptable performance and attendance records

Hiring Salary Range: $38.21 - $39.01

We are currently hiring for an existing vacancy. *The duration of this temporary contract is approximately seven (7) months*
