Job summary

Osler is hiring a registered nurse to provide safe, patient-centred care across pediatrics units, following the nursing process and infection control measures. You will collaborate with an inter-professional team to support patient safety and well-being.

The role requires current Ontario RN registration, a minimum of two years in pediatrics or recent clinical placement, CPR/BCLS, and neonatal resuscitation certification.

Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum two years in a pediatrics unit or recent pediatrics clinical placement (within last two years).
• Current CPR/BCLS certification; NRP and Paediatric ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, patient-centred nursing care across assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with an inter-professional team to support patient safety and continuity of care.
• Deliver health teaching including discharge instructions to patients and families.

Job description

Accountabilities

• Safe nursing practice in all aspects of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care
• Compliance with policies and procedures associated with observations
• Professional, patient-centred care to ensure patient safety and physiological and psychological well-being, associated with creating a therapeutic relationship and environment
• Providing care in a compassionate and caring manner within a diverse cultural environment
• Practicing according to the infection control and prevention measures
• Responding to emergency situations by recognizing changes in patient's health status and consulting appropriately when necessary using transfer of accountability principles
• Providing health teaching to patients and families including thorough discharge instructions to ensure the continuity of care in the community

Experience within the last five years, with a minimum of two years within a paediatrics unit required or minimum clinical placement in a paediatrics unit within the last two years required

Certification and Preferred Certifications

• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate required
• Paediatric Advanced Life Support preferred
• Paediatric Assessment course preferred

• Current registration, and in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Sound knowledge of nursing process, theory, and responsibilities to the nursing profession

Hours

Currently days, evenings, 8 hours shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays(subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary

• Minimum: $41.15 per hour
• Maximum: $58.98 per hour
