Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Acute Geriatric Inpatient Medicine Unit. This temporary full-time position involves responsibilities such as care planning and coordination of care with team members, as well as mentorship duties.

The ideal candidate will possess current RN registration in Ontario, BCLS certification, and significant medical/surgical experience. The position will require the ability to work rotating shifts and be part of a diverse healthcare team.

Employment details

• Employment Status: Temporary Full-time
• Duration: January 2027
• Reporting Relationship: Manager of 12 East & West
• Hourly Rate: $41.15 - $58.98
• Union Group: ONA
• Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, days/evenings/nights/weekends
• Location: Humber River Health, Wilson site

Position Responsibilities

• R.N. responsibilities general medicine and geriatric inpatients.
• Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
• Utilization of computerized systems for patient care documentation.
• Participation in project teams or hospital committees as required.
• Resource/team leader responsibilities.
• Mentorship of new hires and pre-grad nursing students.

Qualifications

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current BCLS certification.
• 2 years of recent medical/surgical experience.
• Demonstration of critical thinking and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
• Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated patient assessment skills (Advance Physical Assessment)
• Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
