Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health System in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support the 7 Surgical Inpatient Unit at Charlton Campus. You will care for acute surgical patients, assess needs, and collaborate with the care team to restore function and safety.

The role requires current Ontario RN registration, recent acute surgical inpatient experience, and BCLS/HCP certification. This temporary, full-time position includes day and night shifts across a 7-day schedule.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Recent clinical experience with acute surgical inpatients within the last year.
• Current BCLS/HCP certification required.
• Demonstrated communication with patients, families and the healthcare team.
• Ability to set workload priorities and organize care.
• Basic computer skills including MS Word and data entry.

Responsibilities

Specialty surgical procedures include those of orthopaedic and urological perspective. Our highly skilled and dedicated interdisciplinary health professional team work collaboratively to provide care of patients in order to help restore and maintain function as quickly and safely as possiblePosition SummaryThe Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care for clients to promote health and assess need for provision of care and treatment of health conditions by supportive preventive therapeutic palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal function. A high level of collaboration between RN and RPN is required to ensure safe and effective care.
