Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Quispamsis, New Brunswick, is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse to join Parkland in the Valley—Embassy Hall. This role offers flexible shifts across days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with a competitive hourly wage and opportunities for ongoing education.

The RN will lead health services delivery, coordinate care plans, administer medications, and supervise care staff while ensuring resident-centered care and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current registration in good standing with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willing to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter across all shifts.
• CPR & First Aid or BLS certification and clear background checks on hire.
• Strong nursing knowledge, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Supervisory experience is a strong asset.
• English proficiency required; French is an asset.
• Passion for senior care and quality accommodations and services.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, evaluate and direct residents’ needs with medical professionals and care teams.
• Provide leadership to health services staff and oversee quality health services.
• Promote communication and policy compliance with management teams.
• Assist with development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans.
• Administer prescribed medications per policy and scope of practice.
• Apply dressings and treatments per physician orders.
• Supervise and evaluate performance of care staff.

About The Opportunity

• Assessing, planning, evaluating, documenting and directing residents’ needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and team members;
• Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the client’s right to individualized planning of health services;
• Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and procedures;
• Assisting with the development, implementation, and evaluation of resident care plans;
• Administering and recording prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice;
• Applying dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy;
• Assisting with supervision and evaluation of job performance of care staff;

About You

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and are currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick;
• Availability to work a schedule of flexible hours and all shifts inclusive of days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week;
• Ability to provide a CPR & First Aid or BLS Certificate, Clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire;
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills;
• Previous supervisory and leadership experience considered a strong asset;
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
