Job summary

Shannex Incorporated is seeking a Casual LPN for Parkland Riverview – Monarch Hall in Riverview, NB. The role supports compassionate care, medication administration and care planning in a dynamic long-term care setting.

As part of a supportive team, you’ll participate in care conferences, supervise health staff, and ensure residents receive individualized health services while following policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Must be ANBLPN registered with active license.
• CPR & First Aid or BLS certification required.
• Proficiency in English; French considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and direct resident care in consult with medical professionals and staff.
• Provide leadership to health services staff and oversee quality health services respecting resident rights.
• Collaborate with management to ensure policy compliance and effective communication.
• Administer and document prescribed medications as per policy and scope of practice.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of residents’ care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting.

About The Opportunity

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, documenting and directing resident needs through consultation with medical professionals, care conferences and internal staff;
• Providing leadership to health services staff and overseeing provision of quality health services respecting the resident’s right to individualized planning of health services;
• Working with the existing management and health services teams to promote communication and compliance to policies and procedures;
• Administers and records prescribed medication as per company policy and scope of practice;
• Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of residents’ care plans;
• Maintains the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting;
• Applies dressings and treatments according to physician’s orders and policy;
• Assists with supervision and evaluation of job performance and behavior of other health care staff

About You

• Active registration with the Association of New Brunswick Licensed Practical Nurses (ANBLPN);
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week;
• A valid CPR & First Aid or BLS Certification (required);
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire;
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
• Any previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care considered an asset;
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care.
