Alberta Health Services seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for Casual/Relief shifts in the Labour and Delivery unit at Olds Hospital and Care Center. You will deliver maternity care, support families, and work with an integrated care team.
Must have an accredited nursing program, be active or eligible for CRNA registration, and hold BCLS-HCP. Prior obstetric experience is preferred to support high-quality patient care.
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Minimum one year experience, in the past two years, seeking experienced Registered Nurses in Obstetrics with the focus on Labour and Delivery and the ability to work in the Acute Care and/or Emergency setting, working to full RN scope of practice. Ability to perform and document physical assessments, ability to administer medications within the Labour and Delivery unit, the Aute Care or Emergency settings. Critical thinking skills, clinical judgement and problem solving. Ability to work as an effective team member, to accept and request direction as required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Basic computer skills and strong knowledge and experience using PALS, Fetal Heart Surveillance, OBIX access, OR c-sections monitoring and assessing the baby post-delivery, post-partum care, Netcare, Connect care (EPIC).
Labour and delivery, OBS 101. Minimum one year experience, in the past two years, Obstetrics, Acute Care and Emergency setting, working to full RN scope of practice. FERN or ENPEP, CTAS, LEAD II, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, CAM A & B, PALS, TNCC, Paediatrics Building blocks.
