Job summary

WELL Health Technologies Corp is seeking a compassionate Clinic Nurse to support patient care and daily clinic operations. You will provide nursing care, assist with clinical procedures, and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities include triage, injections, ECGs, PAP tests, vaccine handling, EMR use, and coordinating referrals. A nursing degree and active registration, plus BLS, are required; immunization or spirometry training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution appropriate to the nursing designation.
• Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial nursing regulatory body.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with EMR systems and coordinating patient follow-ups and referrals.
• Additional training in immunization, venipuncture, ECG, spirometry or allergy testing is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Nursing duties including patient triage, assessments, injections, and assisting with procedures such as PAP tests and ECGs.
• Maintain infection control, and ensure sterilization of equipment.
• Manage patient records, referrals, and follow-ups; support clinic operations and administration.
• Monitor and document vital signs, vaccine fridge temperature, and hygiene.
• Support online booking, self check-in, and general front desk tasks.
• Attend clinic meetings and training sessions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Clinic Nurse to support patient care and the daily operations of our clinic. Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager, with a dotted line to the healthcare professional, you will provide nursing care, assist with clinical procedures, and help maintain a safe, welcoming and efficient environment for patients.

What you will be doing

Reporting directly to the Clinic Manager [CM] with a dotted line to the healthcare professional, responsibilities generally include, but are not limited to the following:

Nursing

• Placing patients in exam rooms
• Patient triage, new patient assessments
• Using electronic medical records
• General measurements (BP, height, weight, spo2, temperature).
• Injections
• Acting as chaperone for doctors when required
• Assisting with PAP tests, vaginal swabs
• 12 lead ECG and PFT (Spirometry)
• Occupational Health Services – Corporate clients
• Regular training for clinical emergencies e.g. basic life support, anaphylaxis, acute asthma, epileptic fits
• Check the emergency medicine cabinet routinely to ensure it is ready for use when emergency occurs
• Allergy testing including Penicillin and food challenge
• Prepare the patch and the Allergy materials to be ready on time for use
• Book and confirm referrals and follow ups for specialists
• Process doctors’ orders and tasks in a timely manner
• Ensuring sterilization of equipment
• Maintaining temperature control records for vaccine fridge
• Monitoring hygiene in the practice
• Adhere to all Health & Safety Regulations
• Adhere to all Public Health regulations

Administration

• Assisting with new patient records
• Monitoring the clinic's computerized health care targets and working towards achieving them
• Maintaining clinic medical supplies and ensuring each exam room is properly stocked
• Patient call backs and referrals
• Enforce online booking and self check in
• Assisting with general office administration work including telephone answering, retrieving patients’ messages, faxing, and processing faxes and document triage
• Attend and make contributions at clinic meetings and training sessions

You have

• A diploma or degree in nursing from a recognized institution appropriate to the nursing designation required for the position.
• Current registration in good standing with the applicable provincial nursing regulatory body.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Additional training in immunization, venipuncture, ECG, spirometry or allergy testing is an asset.
• Ideally, at least one year of relevant nursing experience in a primary care, family practice, outpatient or similar clinical setting.
• Experience with patient assessments, triage, vital signs, injections, wound care and clinical documentation.
• Experience using EMR systems and coordinating patient follow-ups and referrals.
• Experience with allergy testing, occupational health services, ECGs or spirometry is an asset.
• A patient-centred approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Sound clinical judgment and the ability to recognize and elevate urgent patient concerns.
• Strong organization, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of infection prevention, safe medication handling and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently within your scope of practice and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Comfort using digital tools and supporting patients with clinic technology.
