Job description

Join to apply for the Registered Kinesiologist role at Arvan Rehab Group Inc.

We are currently seeking a Kinesiologist (KIN) for a Long Term Care client in Hamilton, Ontario.

The Kinesiologist will provide tailored exercise prescriptions and physical activity recommendations based on resident-centered goals through one-on-one consultations. The role includes devising appropriate follow-up plans within an interdisciplinary team.

Schedule

• 7-18 hours per week; 1-2 days per week

Job Duties

• Assess and prioritize referrals to ensure residents meet treatment criteria.
• Perform and document fitness, functional assessments, and progress notes.
• Facilitate education sessions on lift & transfer, body mechanics, active living.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists to identify and refer complex cases.
• Develop and facilitate cognitive and exercise programs; conduct assessments.
• Engage residents in their rehabilitation, collaborating on goals.
• Participate in clinical huddles, communicate client goals and care plans.
• Adhere to legal, ethical, and professional obligations as per the College of Kinesiologists.
• Prepare reports and monitor data for timely submission to the Ministry of Health.

Qualifications

• Registered Kinesiologist, in good standing with the Ontario Kinesiology Association.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication with elderly residents, healthcare professionals, and team members.
• Experience in Long Term Care or Retirement homes is an asset.
• Current police check for Vulnerable Sector.
• Valid 2-Step TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray.
