Qualifications

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role is an asset; new graduates encouraged to apply.
Up-to-date with all required vaccinations and 2-step TB test.
Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs.

Position Overview

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), you will be a leader in the classroom and work collaboratively with your team to deliver high-quality programming aligned with our child-led, play-based philosophy. Under the guidance of the Supervisor, you will play an integral role in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and implement programming aligned with How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?) and Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT)
Facilitate engaging indoor and outdoor activities that support holistic development
Support a child-led environment that values each child as capable and competent
Conduct developmental assessments and participate in annual family meetings
Capture and document meaningful observations to support child development and learning outcomes
Complete program planning, administrative tasks, and maintain accurate records, including attendance, sleep checks, and name-to-face tracking
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children
Comply with all Ministry of Education regulations and Public Health mandates
Maintain strong communication and collaboration with colleagues and families
Demonstrate consistent punctuality and reliability in daily responsibilities
Respond to transient, emergency, and unplanned duties aligned with the role’s scope
Adapt to the evolving needs of the field with professionalism and flexibility

Qualifications

Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma or equivalent (RECE applicants only)
Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role an asset; new graduates are encouraged to apply
Up-to-date with all required vaccinations and 2-step TB test
Strong understanding of the CCEYA, HDLH?, and ELECT
Passionate about ongoing professional growth and reflective practice
Experience working in culturally diverse communities
Excellent communication skills (English required; French or other languages an asset)
Physically able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 lbs
