Job summary

Compass Early Learning and Care is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator for a permanent 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with an anticipated start date of September 7, 2026. Starting salary range is $22.50–$27.52 per hour.

You will plan and lead play-based activities, supervise children, document progress, and support health, safety, and family engagement. Collaboration with staff and partners is essential.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years’ experience working with children and youth.
  • Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
  • Valid Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid, and CPR Level C, and updated immunization records.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age by the beginning of employment.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (preferred) or pursuing ECE diploma.

  • Maintain active supervision while engaged in play and document learning progress.
  • Create and maintain a safe environment; assist with diapering, dressing, and eating habits.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in learning.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners; participate in meetings and training.

We are committed to supporting children and families in our community.Role and Accountabilities:As a Registered Early Childhood Educator, here are some of the accountabilities attached to this role.Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that reflect children’s unique interests to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.Maintain active supervision with children while still being engaged in play.Document children’s learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.Create and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children.Assist the children with diapering, dressing, and eating habits.Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training opportunities.Assist in housekeeping duties within the program.Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures.Hours will be based on program needs and funding. Shift start and end times will fluctuate within the team and will fall within the program hours of 6 am to 6 pm, Monday to Friday.
