Job summary

LifeSmiles Dental - Selkirk is seeking a Registered/Certified Dental Assistant to join our multi-location practice. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist dentists and hygienists, and help maintain smooth patient flow with a strong focus on comfort and education.

The role involves taking X-rays, sterilization, and adhering to IPAC standards, while supporting scheduling and chart updates. A CDA with provincial certification is required, with prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body or association.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
