Job summary

LifeSmiles Dental in Selkirk, Manitoba is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists. You will prepare treatment rooms, assist during procedures, take X-rays, and help maintain patient care and workflow.

Applicants must be registered/certified with the provincial regulatory body; prior experience is preferred. You will contribute to a patient-centered, collaborative team and uphold IPAC standards in daily practice.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified Dental Assistant with provincial regulatory body.
• Previous dental assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.

Your Role

About You

Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your provincial regulatory body or association is required.

Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
