Job summary

Bunzl Canada is seeking a Regional Sales Manager responsible for managing the business within Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada. This role involves initiating sales, maintaining records, developing distributors, and establishing relationships to grow sales within designated territories. A High School Diploma is required, a Bachelor's preferred, along with at least 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the PPE industry. Candidates should be bilingual (French and English) and familiar with Microsoft Office. Travel will be approximately 75% of the time.

Job Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for learning the full line of MCR Safety and Tingley Rubber products (MCR Safety Group) and manages the business within their assigned territory which includes Ontario / Quebec and Atlantic Canada. This position accommodates customer outbound calls, sample and literature requests, cross reference information, new product promotion, relationship building and travel.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to: National Sales Manager, Canada

Normal work schedule will be approximately Monday – Friday.

Essential Functions, Duties
  • Initiate sales engagement within the territory to promote sales growth within our distribution networks.
  • Maintain daily records of sales activity within our CRM and online portals.
  • Accurately prepare sales information and all other forms of communication for distributors and end users.
  • Attend sales meetings and product training.
  • Coordinate communications with other operations to properly handle customer accounts, including warehouse, traffic, invoicing, purchasing and accounts receivable.
  • Assist and support the independent sales representative agencies within the assigned territory.
  • Become the product expert by attending training, gaining experience from customers, reading trade journals and studying the competition.
  • Meet assigned quotas, sales objectives and behavioral goals.
  • Develop new distributors and expand product lines within the territory; evaluate strengths and weaknesses of product lines against competitors to grow market share.
  • Inform Purchasing of any unusual product requirements or contract changes to ensure proper inventory balance and last‑mile service.
  • Establish relationships and identify opportunities to grow sales with distributors.
  • Participate in distributor training and assist with end‑user calls and development.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and open communication with co‑workers and customers, both internal and external.
  • Assist with special projects when needed.
  • Analyze reports and customer data to identify sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Assist teammates with projects, calls, bids, special pricing and customer inquiries.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques, computer and telephone operations, territory management and development, outbound selling, and effective communication. Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, communicate effectively, handle multiple tasks, follow directions and work safely in an office environment.

Working Conditions

Travel: 75%
Office: 25%

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education (preferred level): High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the PPE industry, and sales territory leadership considered a plus.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Use of MS Dynamics considered a plus.
  • Candidate must be located in Ontario or Quebec.
  • Bilingual (French and English) a plus.
