Majestic Food is a growing food supply company committed to providing high-quality groceries, fresh produce, and other essential food supplies to institutions across Ontario. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, reliability, and potentially local sourcing, helping childcares, schools, kids clubs, before/after school programs, and universities efficiently manage their food supply needs. We are seeking a driven and experienced Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts and expand our market presence within these key sectors.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role located in Vaughan, ON, with the flexibility for some remote work. The Regional Sales Manager for Childcare Centers will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, managing client relationships, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, and meeting sales targets. The role involves regular travel within the region to meet with clients, conduct presentations, and provide exceptional customer support. The manager will also work closely with our warehousing and distribution teams to ensure timely delivery of products to our child care center partners.

Responsibilities:
- Identifying and prospecting new leads.
- Scheduling and attending client appointments.
- Introducing businesses and individuals to our innovative grocery solutions.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, understand their needs, and analyze the competitive landscape within the food supply industry for these sectors.
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify and generate new sales leads through various methods, including cold outreach, networking, and leveraging industry contacts.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., purchasing managers, program directors, business managers) at target institutions.
- Needs Assessment: Understand the specific food supply needs and requirements of each institution and tailor solutions accordingly.
- Sales Presentations and Proposals: Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals that clearly articulate the value proposition of Majestic Food as a reliable and cost-effective food supplier.
- Negotiation and Closing: Effectively negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to secure new business and achieve sales targets.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of Majestic Food's product offerings, including groceries, produce, and other supplies.
- Sales Reporting and Forecasting: Track sales activities, monitor progress against targets, and provide regular reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Team Building (Future): As the company grows, potentially recruit, train, and manage a sales team to expand market coverage.
- Industry Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and association meetings to build relationships and stay informed about market trends.
- CRM Management: Utilize CRM software to manage sales pipelines, track interactions, and maintain accurate client information.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of proven sales experience in the wholesale food supply industry, with a strong preference for experience selling to institutional clients (schools, childcare, universities, etc.).
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the procurement processes within institutional settings.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with clients at all levels.
- Highly motivated, self-starter with a strong work ethic and a results-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Ontario.
- Must pass a clear background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing network of contacts within the Ontario educational and institutional sectors.
- Experience selling fresh produce and perishable goods.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and nutritional guidelines relevant to the target markets.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Background in food and nutrition is highly desirable. Chefs with sales aptitude are encouraged to apply.
