Join us. At PagerDuty, you'll tackle complex problems, collaborate with kind and ambitious people, and help build a more equitable world—all in a flexible, award-winning workplace.

PagerDuty seeks a strategic and results-driven Regional Sales Director to lead our Majors Sales team. Reporting to the RVP Sales, you will guide Account Executives who each manage extensive portfolios of 30-50 accounts, requiring a sophisticated balance of efficient territory management and strategic growth initiatives across existing and prospective customers.

As Regional Director, you will be responsible for building and enabling a high-performing team of Majors AEs who must excel at portfolio management and new business development. You'll oversee revenue growth through a balanced approach of strategic account expansion and new logo acquisition while ensuring your team maintains high customer engagement across their broader account bases. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and scaling sales teams that can effectively manage larger account portfolios while driving consistent growth across both existing and new business.

At PagerDuty, we recognize that our greatest asset is our team. Our sales leadership team is committed to building the best salesforce and creating an environment where Majors AEs feel valued, supported, and empowered to manage their extensive portfolios efficiently while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Majors AEs who must balance attention across 30-50 accounts each, ensuring effective territory management while maximizing growth opportunities.
  • Coach AEs on efficient portfolio management techniques while maintaining high-quality customer engagement across their extensive account bases.
  • Support AEs in developing scalable account plans to identify and capitalize on the highest-value opportunities within their territories.
  • Develop comprehensive sales strategies that enable effective coverage and growth across larger account portfolios.
  • Guide AEs in building efficient prospecting and account management approaches that effectively leverage marketing, alliances, and BDR programs across their extensive territories.
  • Establish frameworks for AEs to prioritize and manage their 30-50 account portfolios while maintaining appropriate engagement levels and growth momentum.

Operational Excellence:

  • Implement scalable sales methodologies and processes that work effectively across larger account portfolios.
  • Create structured approaches for pipeline management that enable AEs to maintain momentum across numerous opportunities simultaneously.
  • Develop metrics and tracking systems that accurately measure both portfolio health and individual opportunity progress.
Basic Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of quota-carrying field experience in software/SaaS sales, with demonstrated success in managing larger territories
  • 3+ years of leading sales teams handling extensive account portfolios
  • Proven ability to coach AEs on efficient territory management and portfolio prioritization
  • Track record of accurately forecasting across diverse, high-volume opportunity pipelines
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading teams using sales methodologies adapted for larger portfolio management
  • Demonstrated success in building teams that consistently exceed targets while managing extensive territories
  • Strong background in developing efficient territory management strategies
  • Experience coaching teams on balancing customer engagement across more extensive account portfolios

This role offers the opportunity to shape PagerDuty's Majors sales organization. The ideal leader will build a team that excels at managing larger territories while driving consistent growth through existing account expansion and new logo acquisition. The ideal leader will bring expertise in creating scalable processes that enable AEs to manage their extensive portfolios effectively while maintaining high customer engagement and sales productivity.
