Job summary

Tundra Process Solutions Ltd. in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a senior Project Manager to lead and oversee the regional project management team in executing complex projects.

You will drive project management processes, coach PMs and Coordinators, and ensure delivery aligned with internal practices. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Service to plan resources, track progress, manage schedules and procurement, and report on profitability to senior

Qualifications

• University degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• PMP designation is an asset.
• 5-10 years experience in project management.
• Experience in medium to large size commissioning projects.
• Background in analytical products is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Drive project management processes within Tundra; coach and mentor Project Managers and Coordinators (Project/Sales) in the use of people, tools and project management accepted practices, planning, controlling, reporting and recovering projects.
• Maintain constant communication with Sales to plan future resources for project execution as well as regular interaction with Engineering and Service to contribute in scheduling of resources and priorities.
• Receive, review and assign projects and retail orders from Sales to PM group considering workload and complexity.
• Develop, maintain and manage production and drawing schedules, inspection and test plans and progress reports.
• Provide packaging / fabrication and testing instructions to service department and coordinate shop testing and site commissioning.
• Manage procurement of equipment and materials including QA inspections and records.
• Lead monthly project profitability reporting and present final reports to senior management.
• Support performance appraisals and coaching of the team.
• Chair internal project review meetings with customers, vendors or internal contributors and lead handovers and production meetings.
• Provide direct management and support to PM/PC/SC at any stage and in dealing with critical project matters.
• Coordinate resources from other regions to support project execution.
• Prepare reports and maintain updated project records.
