Job summary

COBS Bread is seeking a Regional Operations Specialist to support Prairies bakeries from Edmonton, AB. You will report to the Regional Operations Manager, Prairies, and help improve sales, profits and standards across the bakery network.

Your role includes coaching, field support, marketing coordination and ensuring OH&S compliance, with travel to field locations as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years' experience in operations, preferably in a franchise retail environment.
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service.
  • Baking experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular bakery visits/assessments to evaluate franchisee compliance and support changes.
  • Provide in-bakery training and operational support to improve sales.
  • Coordinate and implement local marketing initiatives.
  • Improve franchise operating profit across the portfolio as directed by leadership.
  • Attend in-person production process reviews (e.g., recipe compliance).
  • Review actual production vs. production schedules in-bakery.
  • Attend Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews and align outputs with in-bakery actions.
  • Monitor bakery standards and drive corrective actions with franchisees.
  • Comply with OH&S policies; undertake other projects as required.

Regional Operations Specialist

Reports to: Regional Operations Manager, Prairies

Location: Edmonton, AB

Annual Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 based on experience

We are looking for a Regional Operations Specialist to join our Operations Team in the Prairies. This position reports to the Regional Operations Manager, Prairies and will provide high level of in-bakery operational support, training, guidance, and oversight to deliver improvements in bakery sales, operating profit and standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct regular bakery visits/assessments to evaluate franchisee compliance with merchandising, customer experience, and product quality and support implementation of changes as necessary
  • Where appropriate, provide in-bakery training and operational support to address improvement opportunities for increasing bakery sales
  • Coordinate and implement local marketing initiatives
  • Implement plans to improve franchise operating profit across portfolio as directed by the Regional Director
  • Attend in-person production process reviews (e.g., recipe compliance)
  • Conduct in-bakery reviews of actual production vs. production schedules
  • Attend Quarterly and Annual Business Reviews as required and contribute to discussions to ensure outputs align with in-bakery actions
  • Monitor and ensure bakeries meet standard expectations, and implement with franchisees actions
  • Comply with all relevant OH&S policies
  • Other projects and tasks as required
Requirements
What You Bring to the Table:
  • A high-energy, positive attitude with the ability to quickly develop trust and meaningful relationships
  • 1-2 years' experience in operations, preferably in a franchise retail environment
  • 2+ years' experience in customer service
  • 1-2 years' experience in the food service, hospitality or franchise industry
  • Baking experience required
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel frequently and spend time 'in the field' rather than behind a desk
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to influence others in order to affect change and drive constant improvement
  • Can work autonomously, as well as collaborate and work within a team environment
  • Excellent communication, problem- solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
