Job summary

HOOPP is seeking a Regional Services professional to educate and support a group of employers and their employees about plan administration and compliance. You will build strong relationships, deliver tailored training, and communicate complex pension concepts in plain language.

The role involves presenting at regional seminars, one-on-one member meetings, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure employers meet regulatory requirements and maximize the value of HOOPP for retirement security

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with pension plans, preferably defined benefit multi-employer plans.
  • Solid understanding of pension regulatory concepts
  • Experience delivering presentations in a variety of settings
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including explaining pension terminology clearly
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s licence

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Plan’s primary contact with a block of participating employers and maintain positive relationships.
  • Deliver education and training on plan administration, responsibilities, and compliance.
  • Present to members and employers at regional seminars and workshops across the province.
  • Identify and correct compliance issues with employers and coordinate with HOOPP teams to resolve them.
  • Collect and report feedback from employers and members about HOOPP and its programs.

The individual in this role needs to be able to understand, communicate and enforce compliance rules and regulations and how they pertain to HOOPP administration. This role will occasionally require work and travel outside of normal business hours, with evening and/or weekend activities, as well as travel across the province.What you will do:Serves as the Plan’s primary contact with a block of participating employers, which includes:Developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with each assigned employer through regular meetings (virtual and in-person).Ongoing and consistent contact with employers to understand their needs pertaining to HOOPP and to provide value-added services and education to them and their employees; Delivering HOOPP’s corporate and other key messages; delivering education and training on the value of the Plan, employer responsibilities, administrative processes.Ensure the Employers are aware of and understand their responsibilities as a partner in the administration of the plan for their employees, including providing administrative training via initial orientation, refreshers, and topic-specific reviews; monitor and verify that employers meet the requirements of the Plan and governing legislation (e.g., PBA, ITA) Developing and implementing plans to correct instances where non-compliance is occurring.Resolve any administrative issues HOOPP may be having with the employer and work collaboratively with the employer and across other functional areas of HOOPP to resolve them.Providing guidance regarding the potential pension impacts on their organization and employees of any restructuring (amalgamations, group transfers, acquisitions, and divestments, etc.).Collect and report on feedback from employers and their employees about HOOPP itself and on their successes and/or challenges in healthcare environmentResponsible for providing education about the Plan for clients and other stakeholders through high touch proactive interactions:Presentations about their role and obligations in administration of the plan, and resources to support their administrationEducation and training on the value and features of the HOOPP Plan for both employers and members, supporting the employer’s ability to attract and retain talent making them an employer of choiceundefinedundefinedEducational presentations for members on the features of the plan and the use of member facing tools, and to understand the service they will receive from HOOPP during significant life events. Tailor these presentations to the specific needs of the employer and member audienceIndividual Member meetings (one-on-ones) to provide education and guidance assisting members in understanding how their decision impacts their pension benefitRegional seminars for HOOPP members, virtually and in-person, across the province to support them in understanding the value of the HOOPP Plan and the benefit they receive from their employersWhat you bring:Minimum 5 years’ experience with pension plans, preferably defined benefit multi-employer plansSolid understanding of pension regulatory conceptsPrevious experience assessing and managing compliance outcomes is an assetDemonstrated ability to deliver presentations in a variety of settings and to respond to questionsSuperior client service and relationship management skillsOutstanding interpersonal skills, judgment, and professionalismExcellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain HOOPP and other pension terminology and concepts in plain languageGood written communication and organizational skillsFluency in spoken and written FrenchSelf-motivatedValid driver’s licence is requiredThe expected annual base salary range for this role is: $86,000 - $131,000 CADThe actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.This job is for an existing vacancy.HOOPP may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in screening, assessing and selecting applicants for this position.
