HOOPP in Ontario is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth with prospective employers and members, delivering education presentations, cost analyses, and HOOPP value promotions. You will identify markets, forecast sales, and manage end-to-end processes with internal partners.

You bring 5–7 years in consultative sales, a college/university degree, exposure to defined benefit pension plans, strong client service, and excellent presentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Superior client service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong presentation abilities and poise under pressure.
  • Knowledge of defined benefit pension plans is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and support prospective employers to drive HOOPP adoption.
  • Forecast sales projections for target markets and track opportunities.
  • Conduct presentations and information sessions with employers and employees.
  • Coordinate internal approvals and end-to-end process for new accounts.

As part of the Plan Operations division, this position is responsible for the execution of growth, retention and stakeholder initiatives for all prospective employer and member opportunities.What you will do:Responsible for Business Development activity identifying and supporting prospective employersIdentifies potential markets and evaluates opportunity for growth.Evaluates assigned target markets for risk and other potential barriers.Forecasts sales projections for target markets using the information available from all sources.Conducts sales calls/visits to prospective employers which includes:Sales presentations to prospective employers and their employeesConsultation and information sessions with prospective employersTracks the progress of identified leads and communicates status and trends.Provides guidance to prospective employers on the HOOPP application process.Supports and consults with external associations and prospective employers to assist their decision-making process to join HOOPP.Conducts business retention meetings as necessaryResponsible for developing and sustaining effective working relationships with key internal partners to ensure a seamless experience for prospective employers and membersResponsible to manage Internal Prospective Employer review and approval processEnsure prospective employers meet HOOPP’s eligibility criteria, work internally with partners to address non typical scenariosEnsure application and all support materials are in good order and submit to appointed contacts for approval.Managing the internal end to end processensure outstanding questions are addressedacting as the conduit between the prospective employer and HOOPP to communicate outcomesEnsure prospective employers have been educated about the requirements of HOOPP employer administratorsPartner with Regional Managers to ensure seamless transition for approved employersResponsible to lead Prospective Member InitiativesConducts presentations for prospective members where required, engaging Regional Managers where appropriate.Collects required information from employers interested in HOOPP's support to increase membership, coordinating all components of support.Continuous evaluation of current sales presentations and marketing collateral to ensure information is relevant and accurate.What you bring:5-7 years minimum of work experience in a similar / relevant roleCollege or University degreeIndustry accreditations preferredValid driver’s license is requiredSelf-motivatedPrevious consultative sales and marketing experience are requiredExperience with and expert knowledge of defined benefit pension plans, preferably defined benefit multi-employer plan knowledge, governance structure and employer administrative responsibilitiesSuperior client service and relationship management skills with proven ability to build and maintain network of stakeholdersGood understanding of Ontario Healthcare market/sectorOutstanding interpersonal skills, judgment, and professionalismWell-developed presentation skills with the ability to maintain poise while handling difficult questionsInvestigative and research skills; including sales projections and cost modellingThe expected annual base salary range for this role is: $86,000 - $131,000 CADThe actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.This job posting is for a newly created role.HOOPP may use artificial intelligence tools to assist in screening, assessing and selecting applicants for this position.
