Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Kamloops, BC is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to assist the Accounting Manager with day-to-day, monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities. You will prepare monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, fixed asset records, sales tax remittances for US and Canada, and support external audit processes while collaborating with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting is required.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, analyzes and distributes monthly financial statements for operating branches, including the reconciliation and analysis of general ledger accounts.
• Prepares bank reconciliations and investigates outstanding items.
• Reconciles and maintains fixed assets.
• Prepares sales tax remittances and returns (US and Canadian).
• Analyzes parts inventory semi-annually.
• Prepares year end files, account analyses and supporting documentation for external auditors.
• Assists with various ad hoc projects and tasks as required.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Intermediate Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager in the day-to-day, monthly, quarterly, and year end activities of the Head Office Accounting Department.

SALARY

• The Salary for this role is $65,000-$75,000 depending on experience.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
