Do you want to join us as a Regional Health & Safety Coordinator, driving a health and wellness-oriented culture for a beloved Retailer known for putting safety first as a core value? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Safety, you will provide subject matter expertise and conduct ongoing reviews of health, safety, and wellness programs to maintain compliance with legislated requirements. Through frequent trips to the stores regional network, you will heighten awareness of H&S and educate employees and managers on where they can access the support and information, they require to be healthy and safe in the workplace.

About The Role
- Provide Health, Safety, and Wellness support as it relates to building a Health and Safety culture throughout the Region.
- Visit the Region’s stores, depots, and offices to maintain compliance with legislative and regulatory Health and Safety related requirements.
- Represent the LCBO during Ministry of Labour visits and assist the Region where required.
- Provide advice and support on health and wellness initiatives by liaising with Regional leadership and front-line employees.
- Gather and compile required statistics for the Region and Districts to support legislative compliance and good governance, file documentation and make it available for review (i.e., claim statistics, critical injuries within the organization, Ministry of Labour activity and compliance)
- Track the progress made in Regional accident rate reduction.
- Develop relevant safety messaging to promote safe work practices, inform on MOL programs and heighten safety awareness.
- Respond to emergency situations in your network to provide advice on appropriate process, coordinate emergency assistance services, provide instructions to managers to record information and assess impact of the accident.
- On-call on a rotational basis to provide 24/7 assistance during emergencies, including critical injury incidents.
- Assist managers with incident investigations and work refusals to identify root causes and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrences.
About You
- University Degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the interpretation and application of relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines such as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and associated regulations and standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of hazard identification, including hazardous materials, manual material handling, equipment safety, & psychological hazards.
- Experience working within in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Certified member of a JHSC will also be considered an asset.
- Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and willingness to frequently travel to various locations.
