Job summary

Summit Search Group is retained by a leading Canadian infrastructure company to recruit a Director, Construction for Manitoba. This senior role owns revenue growth, margin performance, and day-to-day execution across multiple sites with full P&L accountability.

You will lead site leadership, drive safety and process improvements, and shape bid strategy in collaboration with estimating and BD teams. Regular travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, road building, paving, or infrastructure operations.
• Proven ability to manage a P&L of significant scale at the business unit level.
• Strong leadership of multi-site teams and programs with financial discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the business unit, with revenue, margin, EBITDA and cost accountability; manage budgets and forecasts.
• Oversee planning, scheduling and execution of construction and paving across multiple sites.
• Champion safety culture and compliance with HSE policies and regulations; conduct safety audits.
• Lead, mentor and develop Site and Operations Managers, Superintendents and Project Managers.
• Serve as senior contact for clients, municipalities, and regulators; manage contracts and risk.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardization, technology adoption and cross-team collaboration.
