Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking a Construction Manager to lead Canadian portfolio projects, reporting to the EVP of Canada. The role is remote in Canada with regular travel to project sites across the portfolio.

Required: a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Construction Management and at least five years of direct experience, preferably with multi-site operations. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Minimum five years direct construction/management experience.
• Experience with multi-site operations and remote work is essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle for construction initiatives across Canada.
• Negotiate and issue prime contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Monitor costs through change orders and contract adjustments.
• Develop recovery strategies when schedules or budgets are at risk.
• Coordinate project scheduling, costs, and progress draws with stakeholders.
