Job summary

Manitoba Government in Thompson, MB seeks a Regional Clerk to provide front-line customer service and robust administrative support across departments. The role involves processing invoices, deposits, and accounts payable/receivable, while maintaining payroll, records, and procurement activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience performing administrative and clerical duties including reception, records management, filing, and data entry.
  • Experience providing clerical support for financial transactions (AP/AR, invoice processing) and maintaining financial records.
  • Experience providing front-line customer service and responding to inquiries from the public.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or similar software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work in a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, or guidelines.

Duties:

  • Providing front-line customer service and administrative support to staff and the public.
  • Processing financial transactions, including invoices, deposits, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Maintaining payroll, timekeeping, financial, and procurement records.
  • Preparing purchase orders, tracking expenditures, and supporting inventory control.
  • Maintaining confidential records and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performing general clerical and administrative duties as required.

Essential:

  • Experience performing administrative and clerical duties, including reception, records management, filing, and data entry.
  • Experience providing clerical support for financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, or maintaining financial records.
  • Experience providing front-line customer service and responding to inquiries from the public.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) or similar software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and accurate information to staff and members of the public.
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare and format accurate correspondence and administrative documents.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interpreting and applying policies, procedures, or guidelines.

Desired:

  • Experience using S/4 Hana or a similar financial management system to process financial or administrative transactions.
  • Experience processing payroll, timekeeping, or employee attendance records.

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check or Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, may be required for some positions
  • Must provide and maintain satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and / or Adult Abuse Registry Check, may be required for some positions
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5F Driver’s Licence, may be required for some positions
