Duties

The Executive Policy and Financial Services Branch is seeking to fill three (3) Accounting Clerk positions, including one (1) bilingual position requiring proficiency in both English and French. This position requires the incumbent to work on-site and provide front-line customer service to the public. Key responsibilities include processing payments related to court-ordered fines, restitution, bail, court fees, and garnishments, as well as reconciling daily payments and preparing deposits.

Additional duties include data entry, preparing correspondence, processing incoming and outgoing mail, and providing general administrative support. The incumbent interacts regularly with members of the public and other stakeholders, both in person and over the phone, is required to lift, carry, push, pull, and move files, records, office supplies, & storage/archive boxes weighing up to 40 lbs, and assists with other departmental responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience performing cashier functions, including processing payments, balancing daily deposits, reconciliation, and using cashier‑related office equipment (e.g. Point of Sale Terminal).
  • Experience performing clerical and administrative duties, including filing, preparing correspondence, data entry, and processing mail.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries, explaining requirements, and providing direction.
  • Experience working in a team environment as well as contribute to a respectful workplace.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to meet work related deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflict.Ability to take initiative and make independent decisions while working under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
