Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic Certificate.
• Working knowledge of BAS, digital controls, and energy management systems.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints and manuals.
• Experience with CMMS and documentation.
• Commitment to safe work practices and PPE.
• Physical ability to perform duties (lifting, climbing, standing).

Responsibilities

This opportunity at the Arthur J.E. Using strong technical and problem-solving skills, the Refrigeration Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance, minimize downtime, and help ensure uninterrupted operation of essential building systems. Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), digital controls, and energy management systems. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturers' specifications. Experience performing preventative maintenance, inspections, equipment testing, and detailed documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space awareness, working at heights, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, working in mechanical spaces, and prolonged standing or walking.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, or other mission-critical facility. Knowledge of healthcare standards, infection prevention and control (IPC), and maintenance best practices. Experience with CMMS software (e.g., E-Facilities) and building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms, including Distech Tridium 4.
