Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. in Bedford is seeking a refrigeration maintenance engineer to ensure the upkeep, repair and optimization of factory refrigeration systems.

Qualifications

• DEP or DEC in relevant refrigeration/fixed machinery fields.
• Refrigeration qualification certificate (MMF A) is an asset.
• Willingness to work all shifts during production season.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of refrigeration equipment.
• Analyze potential breakdowns and schedule repairs.
• Monitor refrigeration network and act promptly during failures.
• Propose improvements to improve reliability and avoid obsolescence.
• Complete maintenance reports and work orders.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and other departments.
• Support teams in operation of mechanical rooms and freezing tunnels.

Department: Maintenance

Location: Bedford

Schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Salary: Base salary $39.66 per hour + several bonuses = an hourly wage of up to $53.91 per hour

Under the responsibility of the deputy director of the department, the refrigeration engineer ensures the maintenance, repair and optimization of the factory's refrigeration systems. It ensures that the thermal conditions required for production are maintained, ensuring rigorous compliance with health and safety, quality and food safety standards.

YOUR DAILY ROLE:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of refrigeration equipment such as compressors, condensers, evaporators and all equipment related to their proper functioning.
• Analyze potential breakdowns and prepare, schedule and undertake repair work.
• Ensure constant monitoring of the refrigeration network and act promptly in the event of a breakdown.
• Propose improvements to improve reliability or avoid obsolescence.
• Complete the various maintenance reports and work orders.
• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance and production team as well as the various departments of the factory.
• Support teams of fixed machinery mechanics in the operation of mechanical rooms and in the operation of freezing tunnels.

YOUR PROFILE:

• DEP in refrigeration or DEP in fixed machinery mechanics A or DEC in fixed machinery electromechanic A or equivalent training.
• Refrigeration qualification certificate or MMF A (valid skills card)
• Be available to work all shifts in case of emergency and illness during the production season.
• Be able to work in ambient or freezing air
• Experience in industrial refrigeration, an asset
