Job summary

Wright Tree Service, Inc. in Prince George, BC seeks a Reforestation Support Worker for the 2026 spring season. You will assist field crews in planting and site prep, manage equipment, and help ensure safety and OH&S compliance in remote bush camps.

The role requires physical endurance, two seasons of tree planting experience, and a valid BC Class 5 license. Seasonal work with potential overtime and accommodations may be provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two seasons of tree planting experience.
  • English language proficiency (read, write, oral).
  • Willingness to live and work in remote bush camps.
  • Ability to carry 50+ pounds during tasks.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and a current Driver’s Abstract.
  • First Aid certification preferred (BC Intermediate/Advanced).

Responsibilities

  • Support crews as directed by your supervisor.
  • Lead camp setup and teardown.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment; ensure safety and OH&S compliance.
  • Organize equipment before, during, and after shifts.
  • Load/unload and transport seedlings with safe stock handling.
  • Operate large pickup trucks and all-terrain vehicles on resource roads.

We provide these services to federal, provincial, regional, local and Indigenous governments, to the forestry, energy, mines, petroleum, transportation and utility sectors, and to numerous regional invasive species organizations across Canada.**Why Wright Canada Holdings:*** A Company Culture of Safety, Family, Integrity, Excellence and Stewardship* An hourly rate of $18.00 to $22.50 *plus* vacation pay and statutory holiday pay.* Spectrum Camps are remote bush camps that have a kitchen with meals provided (for a fee), dining tents, bathrooms, shower facilities, first aid rooms, drinking water and Starlink internet access.* Spring and summer work opportunities, with the potential for overtime during peak times, that is paid according to provincial standards.* Potential for work that extends past the tree-planting season.**Key Responsibilities:*** Support crews as directed by your supervisor.* Complete quality inspections, sample/audit plots, worksite inspections, drill participation, and review of OH&S documentation.* Organize equipment before, during and after shifts, inspecting and maintaining as needed.* Participate in daily tailgate meetings, assess worksites for hazards, inspect vehicles and equipment, ensure first aid requirements are being met and document accordingly.* Lead camp set up and take down.* Maintain work area, storage area, and equipment in a condition that promotes good safety practices and in compliance.* Inspect vehicles and equipment as required.* Support in leading crews, special planting missions, and planting trees as needed.* Walk long distances.* Load/unload and transport boxes of seedlings while maintaining best practices for stock handling.* Safely operate large pick-up trucks and all-terrain vehicles on resource roads.* Other duties as required.**Experience and Knowledge Expectations:*** Minimum of two (2) seasons of tree planting experience.* A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent, and a current Driver’s Abstract.* Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent.* Commitment to spring and summer plant (Early May to mid-August).* Experience driving pick-up trucks pulling ball-hitch trailers and operating all-terrain vehicles.* Competent with technology, handheld devices, and software such as Avenza Maps, Excel, and Outlook.* Ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced, and ever-changing environment.* Willingness to work, enjoy, and live in a remote setting.* Self-motivated and the ability to work well individually and as part of a team.* The physical ability to perform highly demanding role with the ability to carry 50+ pounds.* English language proficiency (read, write, oral comprehension).* Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required safety sensitive positions including positions with driving responsibilities.**Join Our Team:**SRG is a business unit of an employee-owned company formed in 2017, known as Wright Canada Holdings (WCH).
