Job summary

Wright Tree Service of Canada is hiring a Labourer in Kamloops, BC for full-time, outdoors work with arborists. You will help with loading, unloading, and preparing equipment, keep work sites clean, and support crews in varying weather conditions.

The role requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent), a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and a commitment to safety, with on-call rotations and potential travel to marshaling points. Training is provided.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Valid First Aid with CPR or willingness to obtain.
  • Ability to work in a team in physically demanding environments.
  • Willingness to work long hours, overtime, and on-call rotations.
  • Basic knowledge of trees is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the worksite clean and organized by removing fallen tree debris.
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
  • Set up tools and equipment for arborists to use.
  • Help arborists assess the health and structural integrity of trees.
  • Perform physically demanding manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Set up barriers or signs to keep the area safe for the crew and the public.
  • Actively support and encourage working safely and a positive team environment.
  • Other duties as required.
