Job summary

Itape is seeking a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) to install, maintain, and repair complex mechanical systems across our operations in Canada. You will read drawings, perform fabrication and welding, use CMMS, and collaborate with operators to ensure equipment is safe and reliable for production.

The role requires a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, safe lifting, and lockout/tagout practices.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) certification.
• Experience maintaining and repairing complex mechanical systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
• Ability to safely operate tools, shop equipment, and lifting devices.
• Comfort working at heights using ladders, staging, and lift equipment.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions.
• Familiarity with CMMS software (asset management/maintenance logging).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in various industrial conditions.
• Commitment to safe work practices, including lockout/tagout.

Responsibilities

• Installing, dismantling, repairing, and reassembling complex mechanical equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures.
• Performing skilled fabrication, welding, cutting, burning, and pipe fitting.
• Conducting rigging operations to safely move machinery.
• Completing general rough carpentry tasks.
• Installing new or used machines with minimal supervision.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Operating shop tools, equipment, and inspection gauges.
• Using CMMS to log work orders, look up tasks, and track parts.
• Working with operators to verify equipment after repairs.
• Replacing and maintaining parts, supplies, and components.
• Ensuring a clean, safe, well-organized maintenance shop.
• Performing occasional basic electrical tasks (with lockout/tagout in place).
• Supporting the team with additional duties as required.
